FoodFirst LLC is in network with select Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) plans. Because coverage for nutrition counseling varies significantly by employer group and specific plan, even among plans under the same BCBS umbrella, we are not able to guarantee coverage, and every client is responsible for verifying their own benefits before their first session.

Before You Book, Please Verify

  • Whether nutrition counseling / medical nutrition therapy is a covered benefit under your specific plan
  • Whether your plan requires a practitioner referral or specific diagnosis code for coverage
  • Any visit limits, copay, or deductible that applies
  • Whether Anna is confirmed in network under your specific group plan (network participation can vary by group even within BCBS)

Insurance Verification Checklist

To make this easier, a simple insurance verification checklist, including the exact questions to ask BCBS member services, is provided during onboarding, before your first session is scheduled. After you book, Anna will also contact you directly regarding insurance benefit verification.

Self pay

Self pay sessions are also available for clients who prefer not to use insurance, don't have BCBS, or whose plan doesn't cover nutrition counseling.

Coverage is never guaranteed by verifying benefits in advance. Final payment responsibility rests with the client regardless of what was communicated by the insurance company prior to the visit.
